It is available to families who reside in St. Albert and require information on parenting and child development. This is a free program to participants who meet criteria.
What you can expect:
Home Visitation provides positive opportunities for families to raise their children in a healthy, safe and secure environment.
Family Support for Parents
You are your child’s first and most influential teacher!
Parents are children’s’ first educators and our Parents as Teachers (PAT) program provides instruction and support to help parents learn how to teach their children as well as nurture them. Parent as Teachers is a parent education and family support program serving families throughout pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten. Parents are supported by PAT- certified parent educators trained to translate scientific information on early brain development into specific when, what, how and why advice for families. By understanding what to expect during each stage of development, parents can easily capture the teachable moments in everyday life to enhance their child’s language development, intellectual growth, social development and motor skills.
Triple P – (Positive Parenting Program)
Parenting now comes with an instruction manual!
As we all know, kids don’t come with an instruction manual: parenting means cutting through misinformation and confusion, and this often results in high levels of stress. Triple P provides clear and simple strategies to turn problems around and prevent problems from developing in the first place.
Triple P is delivered by accredited staff trained to provide each parent with tools directly relevant to the specific needs of their family. From tantrums to sleeping, bullying to teenage withdrawal, whatever the need, Triple P has the information, tip sheet, self-help book, video, seminar, course or expert to help.
